  • Dairy: cream, ice cream, margarine, curds, butter, soft cheese, yogurt
  • Bakery: yeast, dough, fruit filling, fats and oils
  • Meats: sausage filling, fats, broths, pet food
  • Canned foods: baby food, soups stews, ketchup, pudding, dressings, mayonnaise, jams and jellies
  • Beverages: beer, mash, wort, fruit juices, fruit concentrate
  • Candy: sugars, chocolate, cocoa butter, corn syrup, gelatin
  • Flavorings: syrups and concentrates
  • Cosmetics: creams, lotions, jellies, shampoos, emulsions, toothpaste

Advantages

  • Pass medium solids
  • No metal-to-metal contact
  • Superior CIP/SIP capabilities
  • Long term dry run (with lubrication to seals)
  • Non-pulsating discharge

Operating Principle:

A typical sanitary lobe pump includes two lobe rotors which can rotate in opposite directions (one clockwise and the other counterclockwise) in the casing without contact.
During rotation, the lobes create an expanding space on the inlet side, through which the liquid at the inlet could flow into the cavity in the casing.
Liquid does not travel though the inter-space of the lobes, but the areas between the lobes and the casing.
When the lobes rotate back into mesh, the liquid in the casing would be forced out through the outlet under pressure.
